How to Tether your iPad & iPhone. In this video I show you how to tether your iPad and iPhone so that you can use your iPhone's data connection on your iPad.
Firstly it's advisable to check with your carrier to see if they allow tethering as they may charge you extra for this capability or require you to purchase an additional data bundle.
To connect your two devices you will need to turn the Personal Hotspot Feature on in the Settings on your iPhone. You will then have the available options for connecting via Wifi, Bluetooth or USB. In the case of the iPad you will use the Wifi or Bluetooth connection.
To connect via Wifi you will need to connect to your iPhone which should show in the Available Wireless Networks list. Use the password given to you under the Personal Hotspot setting. The connection should now be active and you can now use your iPhone's data connection for email or surfing the web.
To connect via Bluetooth makes sure Bluetooth is turned On for both devices and make sure that they are paired. To pair your two devices go into the Bluetooth setting in Settings/General you should see your iPhone listed. Tap on your iPhone and it will present a code on the screen of both your iPad and iPhone, tap to confirm the code is the same and this should then activate the connection. Once paired you will only need to tap to connect your iPhone in future. The connection should now be active and you can now use your iPhone's data connection for email or surfing the web.
